8 Creative Ways to Use 5-Minute Basil Pesto.

So clearly I’m really hoping you made some five minute basil pesto, because I have some serious pesto inspiration for you today. My last batch ended up stirred into pasta with some sweet cherry tomatoes, and we had enough left to slather it on a pizza with mozzarella cheese and big tomato slices…

…but there are so many creative ways to use pesto! The punch of flavor from fresh herbs, garlic, and Parmesan cheese instantly adds so much complexity to any dish. I wanted to think outside my pasta + pizza comfort zone, and I love these ideas from some fellow food bloggers.

Fancy grilled cheese is one of my favorite easy dinners, and this pesto chicken sandwich on sourdough from Baking Mischief looks amazing!

So simple but so genius – basil pesto hummus from Three Olives Branch combines two of my favorite dips. That swirl is gorgeous!

These roasted pesto potatoes from Salu Salo Recipes look like the perfect summer side dish. Super easy!

Anything called “No Work” Italian Baked Chicken is something I need on my meal plan. Love this from The Seasoned Mom!

Y’all know I love no-knead bread, and I’m dying to try this version from Living Sweet Moments – check out her No Knead Pesto Bread!

I need so much help when it comes to cooking fish, and this baked salmon topped with pesto from Sweet and Savory by Shinee is an awesome tutorial!

I had never thought to use pesto as a marinade – I can’t wait to try it! These basil pesto chicken kebabs from Home & Plate look so tasty.

You really need to check out this ratatouille quinoa bake with pesto and buffalo mozzarella from Domesticate Me…because anything that can be described as “smelling like an herb and garlic-laced angel” just needs to be eaten ASAP.

I hope you’re totally inspired to go forth and make all the pesto! Now can someone come hold this baby so I can join you? :o)

  • Thanks for including our Baked Chicken! I have so much basil growing right now that I've been making more pesto than we can eat! :) I love these new ideas. Sharing!

    • Thanks Blair! I'm jealous of your basil crop, I keep having to wait for enough leaves to do a pesto batch! ;o)

  • I tried the Italian Baked Chicken with a no-nut pesto, and it was so tasty! I doubled the diced tomatoes bc that's the size can I had, and would do that again.

    • Awesome! I need to use up some basil again so I'll have to remember to add this to my meal plan this week!
